Garador Garage Door Remote Reprogramming

How Do I Reprogram a Garador Garage Door Remote?

Programming a Garador garage door remote takes under 60 seconds on current GaroMatic and EuroPro BiSecur motors. This guide covers the full programming sequence, how to add a second remote and what to do if you have an older Garador system where current handsets are not available

Before you start: confirm your motor series

Garador GaroMatic and EuroPro motor units share the same BiSecur radio system as Hormann SupraMatic and ProMatic operators. The programming sequence is the same across all BiSecur-equipped Garador and Hormann motors. Check the label on the motor unit for the model and series number before programming.

Programming a BiSecur remote to a GaroMatic Series 3 or 4 motor

  1. Locate the programming button on the motor unit. On GaroMatic units it is typically on the front panel behind the light cover or on the underside of the motor head.
  2. Press and hold the programming button until the motor indicator light flashes or a brief tone confirms the unit has entered programming mode. Release the button.
  3. Within approximately 10 seconds, press and hold the button on the handset you wish to programme. Hold until the motor light flashes again, confirming the code has been stored.
  4. Test the remote by pressing the programmed button. The motor should respond immediately.

Adding a second remote using an existing working remote

On current BiSecur GaroMatic and EuroPro motors, a second handset can be paired using an existing working remote without accessing the motor unit:

  1. Hold the existing (teacher) remote close to the new (student) remote.
  2. Press and hold the programming button on the existing remote until the LED on the new remote illuminates.
  3. Press the button on the new remote that you wish to assign to the door. The LED confirms the code transfer.
  4. Test the new remote to confirm it operates the door.

Older Garador systems (40MHz and 433MHz)

Older GaroMatic motors operating on 40.685MHz use a different programming method and handsets that are no longer in production. If your original handset has been lost, a universal receiver upgrade kit is the most practical solution. For 433MHz EuroPro systems, compatible Garador and Liftronic handsets are still available and program using the same learn-button method as current BiSecur motors.

Delete stored codes if a remote is lost. If a GaroMatic remote has been lost or stolen, all stored codes can be deleted from the motor to prevent the lost remote from operating the door. The delete procedure requires holding the programming button for a longer period. Consult the motor manual for the exact sequence or call Northwest Garage Door Spares on 01942380256.
